Ideologies and agendas tend to become their own reason for being...anything can be justified to push towards that end.
Rational people think certain things are good and wholesome, or desirable and work for them. Idealogues BELIEVE in their position, or desire their end so much that they don’t care about the rules any more, or who they hurt to stay doctrinally pure.

Orrin Hatch was just up on the Senate floor giving a very impassioned speech about the SCOTUS decision yesterday...and how good it was...but, angry that the dems keep still pushing for abortion at any time, for any reason.
