Notwithstanding their primitive, virtually IQ-free brains, these creatures continue to outsmart humans on a pretty regular basis. Common sense would seem to dictate using a dart, when anesthetizing a huge beast with an impressive rack of teeth and a well-earned reputation for dealing with humans as snacks.

In Lake Jackson Texas where our perm. home is we have alligators. The biggest one I know of in MY neighborhood, a block or so from my house, was eleven and one half ft. long. We put up a fence! Here in So. Cal. we have bears, coyotes, mountain lions....

When a dangerous, big, wild critter enters the residential neighborhoods, it is captured and carried off, dead or alive.
