Police in Taiwan were forced to shoot a crocodile after it bit off the arm of the zoo veterinarian treating it, an official said on Wednesday.
Dramatic television footage showed a police officer firing on the animal to wrest the severed limb from its jaws.

Chang Po-yu, 38, from the southern Kaohsiung city's Shou Shan Zoo, was injecting the sick crocodile with anaesthetic when it attacked him.
He was said to be in a stable condition after being rushed to hospital for an emergency operation to re-attach his arm, an local official said, although it was not immediately clear whether Chang would recover.

No, thank God. A few quills in the nose and maybe half a dozen in the tongue of each dog. I remember seeing that picture. Evidently a very stubborn dog when attacking porcupines.
Some creatures are just downright ungrateful!!!
Gosh- doesn’’t that croc look alot like Rosie?????
Dear Lord: Did that dog survive?
And what did we learn to day Timmy?
Dangerous Animals are sometimes DANGEROUS Mr. Wizard.
Very good Timmy, now go have your mother sew that stump up.
Reminds me of Mr. Sharon Stone, who decided a Komodo dragon would make a good playmate.
Or Paris Hilton who thought that a Kinkajou would.
(Kinkajous' saliva is highly infectious and they are known for turning on their owners viciously. Paris was bitten and sent to the hospital.)
Crocs don't eat fresh meat. They tear down their victim, then take the flesh away and hide it in their nest, coming back days later for tasty bites.
Now THAT’S what I call biting the hand that feeds you...
It's not.
Nope, it’s real.
In Lake Jackson Texas where our perm. home is we have alligators. The biggest one I know of in MY neighborhood, a block or so from my house, was eleven and one half ft. long. We put up a fence! Here in So. Cal. we have bears, coyotes, mountain lions....
When a dangerous, big, wild critter enters the residential neighborhoods, it is captured and carried off, dead or alive.
We ran into Jerry Reid at Houston Hobby Airport when my daughter was a month or two old. Jerry was there for some event with the guy who used to be on WKRP Cincinati TV show... Frank Bonner who played Herbert ‘Herb’ Tarlek.
It was back when Hobby Airport was like Ontario Airport Calif. Where you walked down the stairs to the tarmac then to the terminal. It was so quaint and convenient and never crowded!
They were very nice and told me my daughter was beautiful. Now she is 24 this year and they were right! She was beautiful and now She IS GORGEOUS!
Bada-bump.
All I can say is, I’m glad that guy wasn’t diving in the nude.
