Chang Po-yu, 38, from the southern Kaohsiung city's Shou Shan Zoo, was injecting the sick crocodile with anaesthetic when it attacked him.

He was said to be in a stable condition after being rushed to hospital for an emergency operation to re-attach his arm, an local official said, although it was not immediately clear whether Chang would recover.

Dont they normally duct tape the mouth closed?

Or at least shoot the croc with a tranq instead of getting up close and personal?

Good grief! That croc was dangerous to begin with, and then he became armed and dangerous.

Okay, I know everyone going to make sick jokes at the expense of this poor man’s misfortune, but I have a serious question. Is it not possible to develop some sort of dart gun or VERY long syringe to administer the tranquilizer and prevent this sort of mishap from happening again?

The worst part is that the crocodile looks like it’s laughing.
