It was just announced on the "Mike and the Mad Dog Show" on WFAN (Imus's home base): Imus is out of a job on radio as well.
He will not even be on the air tomorrow.
I think that is what CBS was scrared of.
They don’t mind if an enemy of PC is the target. (see Rosie o Donuts getting a free pass on ABC)

If this was truly a "rhetorical victory," as you put it, the consequences for Imus and, more importantly, talk radio itself, wouldn't have risen to this degree of toxicity. This is much more than a "rhetorical victory" and Sharpton knows it and will persist accordingly in the future.
Then his face should be in the dictionary under RINO.
I checked that thread out. Some of the comments were generic, but it still looks to me like I’m correct in believe that most FReepers do not agree with Imus being fired.
