Thank you!! How’s your dear Dad? I’ve been thinking of you both.
Update on dad, some good and some well not exactly bad but distressing for him.
He is making great progress with the elbow and has almost full movement back which is quite incredible less than a week after surgery. He can hold a cup with hand and touch his nose and reach over his tray to pick something up from the far side of the tray. The physio is really pleased and says that he is basically there with the elbow and just needs to keep up the exercises they have given him.
On the hip because they are still doing investigations re the stomach they have not had him actually walking but have given him exercises to strengthen it whilst in bed. Again the physio is more than pleased and it is obvious that dad has done the exercises as he can left the leg up and down freely.
He has had another 2 enemas today and I believe tomorrow is due to have another abdominal Xray.
Basically I get the impression they want the stomach to go down before doing any extensive physio probably due to the fact that they do not want the extra weight of the swollen stomach to affect the replacement hip by putting to much pressure on it.
All things considered he is in good spirits and is so grateful of all of your prayers and cards - God Bless you all
