There's a good write-up of the movie on Wikipedia:
I agree.
BTW, if I remember correctly Sharpton did have to pay a price for the things he said during the Tawana Brawley thingy. He lost in civil court.
The Imus comments actually had a few different components - racial, sexual, sadistic, and misogynist. They were imitating black Rap hip-hop lingo. The joke was at the expense of the dysfunctional sexual subculture that has oozed its way into popular consciousness through vulgar music lyrics.
One footnote: Bill Cosby, in the past, actually has spoken out against such vulgar speech patterns. The trash mouth culture that is now part of modern popular culture should be the issue taken up at this point in the debate.
Maybe Imus’s long time criticism of Hitlery is the reason Sharpton went after him. Sharpton is a Hitlery supporter. Maybe he was doing Hitlery’s dirty work. This is kind of thing the Clinton’s specialize in. They are ruthless.
No, Mr. B, he just looks like it.
I’m sure of it.
That’s a nice portrait of the Rutgers team SUBSEQUENT to Imus’ critique, but pictures/videos of how the team looked and acted earlier - during the broadcasted game - would be more relevant.
No. The game tape is irrelevant.
Imus called the girls, whores. I don't recall seeing the RU girls propositioning any Johns during the game.

Then, so’s your picture.
Bill Buckley died years ago. Didn’t he?
No, I showed you a picture of the RU girls not being whores. If you think that the RU girls are whores it is you who needs to show such a picture.
Hail Cicero, 'cause you damn right. And in doing so, Al earned a marker from Hillary as big as Clinton's apple fritter. [But good luck trying to call in that marker, Sharpdumb.]
Imus, knowing that this very thing transpired, will grab the first national platform he gets -- Sirius-ly -- and go after both of them in '08 with everything he's got.
Just look for the 800lb. gorilla in the room...
“And, to be clear, by dont care I mean that I dont have a problem with it, it doesnt bother me in the least, etc. I cant think of any good reason why someone should call any girl a nappy-headed ho just for playing a basketball game, so a liberal jerk a-hole like Don Imus getting sacked for it is perfectly fine by me.”
One good thing about a mirror is its honesty. How many nappy-headed hos, including Jesse and Al, cared a whit when Imus called Vice President Cheney a war criminal? Or made fun of Condoleeza Rice. It is possible to make a list that would take all night. Imus was offensive to everyone. His buddy Do Dietl was on his show to be made fun of. Same with his other on air personalities. Tension while on air was a part of his appeal, and on TV the discreet smiles he smothered in his shirt collar gave away his onery, tongue in cheek, inner self.
As to whores, one need look farther than Jesse and Al, no matter how you spell it.
Does anyone know what kind of comments Imus made on his show, in general, about Hillary? I would think, if he was generally "anti-Hillary", that she would have a motivation to look for a way to get him off the air, by working behind the scenes to coordinate the Sharpton and Jackson attacks, and perhaps even funding the picketing and the transportation of people around to the various picketing sites.
So, if anyone could summarize the baseline attitude of Imus in regard to Hillary, I would be glad to find out, since I never had much of a chance to hear Imus.
Thanks.
And never paid a nickel out of his pocket.
