i would like to be on the fred ping list, and hope you won’t suspend the pings. i live in NoVA, many alums from my son’s and daughter’s highschools attend VaTech, and many of their classmates have siblings there. It is a tragic situation, but i think that we are able to mourn this tragedy and still discuss other things. Just my opinion.

I agree. If a person who has been personally affected by the killings yesterday, or is simply emotionally affected by the news, doesn’t wish to think about other news for a while, that’s fine. Everyone reacts to things in different ways.

Keep the pings coming for me. We can honor the VT victims by praying for them and their families. Also, we can show our respect on the VT threads where there is discussion going on about this. Nothing disrespectful about what you are doing.

Please keep me on the Fred list! Like someone else here said, it makes it easier for many of us to have the Fred threads pinged to us instead of trying to find them ourselves.

You're doing a great job, jellybean!

Fred Thompson beats the scat out of the rinos running now.

That's some visual!

With descriptions like that, who needs coffee?

The FRed pings will continue. I'll only suspend for those who wish to take a break for a few days.

Having said that; I'd like to thank those who find the Fred articles and post them or ping me to the FRed Threads. They are the ones doing the hard work.

Special mention to STARWISE, xsmommy, politicalmom, Sturm Ruger, KoRn and even area51. Without your pings I would miss ALOT! Keep it up guys. I appreciate it!

Is there a rational reason that the Fred pings should stop? I know that the shooting in VA yesterday was bad but good grief! Can you imagine what would happen if the 'bad guys' hit 4 or 5 places at once with a similar attack? These people calling for VT officials to resign would be devastated, then of course, they'd call for Bush to resign. Deal with it, grieve, then go on!

with all due respect,

Ironically it was Alexander Hamilton’s hatred of Aaron Burr that gave his nemesis Jefferson the presidency.

I had always thought the duel with Hamilton occurred after Jefferson was elected. Are you referring to Hamilton's nefarious accusations against Burr that Burr had an incestuous relationship with his daughter? Or what?

There’s something else to like about Fred Thompson. He doesn’t appear to be lusting after the job as if he needs it for his self-image. This, too, is much like Reagan, who knew who he was before becoming president and was the same after he left office...

Another good way to explain Thompson's approach.

If someone is that upset, why would they be on FR?

If a ping list is insensitive, then CHECKING one’s pings would be, as well, right? :)

I will say, it sounds very strange. And given the climate of the coming elections, wouldn’t silencing Thompson news be a good thing? I’m not pulling out the tinfoil. I’m just saying I don’t trust ANYONE who tries to manipulate any information gathering by the public.
