We’re not leaving Iraq, any more than we’re leaving Europe and Japan. We may leave Iraq security to the Iraqi forces, while we fall back to the bases we’ve established in Iraq-but we’re not leaving those bases (though we may scale back forces) and hence we will not leave Iraq. The US needs bases in the ME for a variety of reasons, and the saudi bases are going to be lost to us eventually (which is why our forces there have been cut to the bone). So we will have to stay in Iraq .
I agree. But, look back to 1973 and the Democrats controlling Congress then.
