First of all, the less you eat, the body will slow down your metabolism even more than it already has. Exercise more, fine and good except somebody already obese can't exercise very efficiently, if at all. There alot of different metabolisms and body types. And many reasons people can get fat, from illness to eating the wrong stuff. The Atkins diet works because it cuts out sugar, refined grains aka bad carbs.

If you need to lose under fifteen pounds yes. Anything over that and not really.
