Hard to tell which was more inept - the Carter team or the Kennedy team.
one of our sadder moments.
I consider our abandonment of 2506 to be one of the black marks in our history.
NEVER FORGET!
A lot of these men spent time in St. Augustine, and I was fortunate enough to meet some of them.
but was "The Good Sheperd about the Bay of Pigs?"
I saw it the other night, and I did not really "get" what the director was trying to communicate.
I noticed some heavy-weight liberals in it. Was there a slant or agenda I did not notice? -Doc
JFK: The benchmark for style over substance.
I heard a interesting story about this back in 79 when I was in the Navy from our 1st. class from some years back.
He was in sickbay for some something ( I forget what) And his roommate was coming out of anesthesia. He was supposedly a communications officer in the White House at
that time. As he was coming out he started talking about the Bay of Pigs and was like having flash back reliving it.
One of the thing he said was that JFK had ordered the support. But Bobby was against it. And got on the radio and pretended to be his brother and recalled the forces. Being that they sounded so much alike the commanders thought they were getting orders from the CNC. In the confusion by the time it was sorted out what had happen. It was to late to
turn the forces around. Or admit what had happend. And you can see why this would suppressed. The CNC loosing control of the armed forces.
Is this Sea Story true? I dont know But its interesting.
