Frustration over Corzine not buckling up
Associated Press ^ | April 18, 2007 | TOM HESTER Jr.,

TRENTON, N.J. - Last year, New Jersey law officers ticketed 271,182 people for not wearing seat belts in violation of state law. This year, one will stand out: Gov. Jon S. Corzine, who was critically injured in an automobile accident last week.

David Wald, spokesman for state Attorney General Stuart Rabner, wouldn't say why state police assigned to protect the governor didn't insist Corzine obey the seat belt law.

"As always, we urge all drivers and passengers to wear seat belts," Wald said.

Corzine, 60, broke multiple bones in the wreck and remains hospitalized in intensive care, breathing with the help of a respirator.

Corzine, the vile, arrogant, Stalinist, "do as I say, not as I do," POS, got a well-deserved comeuppance for his arrogantly directing his chauffer to drive recklesly, force other vehicles driven by mere peons off the road, and jeopardizing the safety of every responsible driver on the road.

"Corzine is a Bucklehead!"

I think "crash test dummy" would be a more suitable appellation...

Few things irritate me more than government officials, especially those in a position to impose laws up on us, openly and proudly flouting the same laws. Officials who do such things should have to endure at least 10x the punishment that us peons should have to endure if we are caught breaking the law.

It simply amazes me that people want to ban high speed police pursuits of criminals but it's okay for the Governor of my state to speed to a photo op with Imus groveling to the Rutger's women's basketball team. Was it really that important.

Here's an idea...if you have to be somewhere leave on time so you don't have to speed.

This seatbelt thing is really poignant. As an attitudinal signal, it’s symptomatic of the great sense of safety the privileged, like John Corzine, feel. In his everyday life, John Corzine is and has always been surrounded by a protective bubble that would make an ancient Caesar or King blush. And yet, he is the class of person who decides on our right to protect ourselves He has decided that we don’t have that right. So, when he finds out that nobody in earth is actually “protected,” don’t count on him to change his mind. Because he has the best medical care on earth and nearly unlimited resources, he will pull through this episode just fine. And then he will be popped right back into that protective bubble. I guess the bubble is a little hazy though, and that’s why he can’t see that the rest of us aren’t protected.

And it is reflected in his opinion of the 2nd Amendment...

Look at the police report that was posted yesterday. If you read between its sterile lines, you’ll see my words exactly describe what Corzine was doing. It’s rare that such a POS ever pays such a well-deserved penalty. I’m mourning for that creep with the smallest possible violin.

Just like Ben Rothenburger getting a ticket in his hospital room for not wearing his helmet, there should be a State Trooper handing him a ticket for not wearing a seatbelt AND DRIVING TO ENDANGER when he wakes up.

It's true, he's an excellent representative of everything that FR is against. With that said however, I don't think anyone on FR would actually wish such a serious injury on anyone, and we not only hope that Corzine recovers, but that this incident makes him see the error of his ways and begin a campaign to rid NJ politics of corruption, and to being legislating from a perspective of personal responsibility, turning NJ into a beacon of liberty for the rest of the country.

(Well... wishing for a better world is all the Democrats ever do and they get everything they want in NJ, so I thought I'd try it...)

Was also reported that the car he was in was doing 91mph. I guess he was in a rush to get to Imus.

Usual for elite libs. They believe they are above the laws they impose.
