A kid I went to school with was notorious for vandalizing property and, on at least one occassion, breaking into a house. His daddy was a Looey in the NCPD, so he got a free pass. Don't get me started on the fact that a disproportonate number of the druggies I knew had daddies on the NCPD.
Despite the high property taxes, and higher salaries paid to the NCPD relative to the city, the NYPD is still a much more professional organization.
You’ll get exactly NO quarrel from me, C. I’ve never had dealings with NCPD, but the one time I had them with NYPD did nothing but increase my respect for those chaps. Doing an impossible job, and still managing mostly to keep civilisation going in NYC.

Well I might need to go to rehab, but the last time a school was shot up in Virginia, the student wasn't born here either.
