So, maintaining a 30%+ share of the votes in a field of @15 candidates equals to having your wind sucked out?

Rudy dropped 12 points in the first poll and 18 points when Gingrinch is not included. That is a major drop anyway you cut it. If you wish to poo-poo it, go right ahead. But there is good reason why Rudybots are ramping up their attacks on Fred.

The more candidates running, the less votes there are to go around.

I thought these early polls meant nothing to the anti-Rudy people. Now that there’s an expected tightening (which BTW is normal during the course of a multi-candidate race) the glee is apparent with the anti-Rudies. Way I see it is that for meaningless polls, having your candidate consistently leading by double digits is welcomed news.
