The purpose of our survey is to transmit directly to elected officials the voting publics expectations of Texas state governments, unfiltered, and unparsed, stated Joe Gardner, a Tower Institute Director.
The survey proves that Texans want limited government and lower taxes.
The survey was conducted in collaboration with Americans for Prosperity Texas, which provided several issues to be studied. Americans for Prosperity is a grassroots organization that educates and mobilizes citizens as advocates for limited government, free markets, the principles of entrepreneurship, and fiscal and regulatory restraint.
We were eager to see how voters responded to the issues that taxpayer-funded lobby associations are advocating, and it was astounding to see that our tax dollars are going to support a legislative agenda that voters dont agree with, said Peggy Venable, AFP-Texas director. Legislators should take notice that voters support taxpayer protections and want to end taxpayer-funded lobbying, said Venable. These are issues the legislature has yet to act on. Legislators should not have to face constituents back home without addressing these voter concerns.
Poor Peggy just now saw the light?
