Dismissed U.S. attorney began Renzi probe

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz., April 21 (UPI) -- A federal investigation into an Arizona congressman could put more pressure on the Bush administration in the flap over dismissed U.S. attorneys.

Paul Charlton, who began the investigation into Republican Rep. Rick Renzi, was one of the eight federal prosecutors fired, The Wall Street Journal reported.

It seems odd and vague. What are your thoughts on the matter?

Odd? The investigation is ongoing. What the idiots in the MSM don’t tell America is that the Assistant US Attorneys are the guys that handle these cases which is why the FBI raided Renzi’s wife’s insurance business last week.

Hey, sounds like a more complicated version of the Reid land deal. Did you post that one as well?

Yep it is very fishy. It is very strange that the Bush haters who fabricated this scandal for over 2 months now did not bring such an obvious thing earlier of course if this reporting is correct.

Odd indeed.

Why would the Republican Justice Department fire a U.S. Attorney looking investigating a Republican Congressman?

Drip drip drip

The Rats went to prolong this. That is their plan, to keep “scandals” in the news. With the MSM help of course.

He is still being investigated, so it’s clear they didn’t fire her to stop the investigation.

They have NO instance where an investigation was effected in any way by the firings. It’s not like in Clinton’s case where the replacement attorneys dropped investigations.

Mine is this, the senator GOP who called for Gonzales dismisal during the hearings was probably the smartest guy in the room and quite possibly limited his political liability at that specific juncture.

Why would the Republican Justice Department fire a U.S. Attorney looking investigating a Republican Congressman?

Any number of reasons - spring housekeeping, he ticked someone off, wasn't focusing on this administration's priorities, etc? Doesn't matter.

The link that you showed has nothing to do with the firing of the Attorneys.

You joined few weeks ago and you are already pushing DNC points here. Do not hide behind what the GOP senator told Gonzales to spread DNC talking points.

What are you talking about??? Are you saying that you think the Administration actually did something wrong?

If that is what you're thinking then you got a lot to learn about the left.

They are trying to keep the American people believing there is some kind of scandal going on and the best they can come up with is the dismissing of 8 lawyers.

Please look away from Feinstein using her position and votes to make herself millions off the defense department, or Hillary Lying to the FEC, or Murtha "I didn't take the cash directly" ABSCAM, or William "really cold cash" Jefferson.
