Just to let you know, I have pushed the abuse button on you for posting that with my name on it.

I wouldn't expect anything less from you. Thanks for proving my point.

“Nothing more and nothing less.”

Sorry, those were your words. Comparing the RR to the anti-war wackos is not a healthy comparison.

"So, unless you can refute that line of reasoning, it is no taunt or a name call. Fire away I await your positive contribution and apology."

I think she was referring to your unquoted use of profanity... Since it wasn't quoted or signed in your posting as originating from someone else, it appeared to be coming directly from you. :-(

Great posts, both of you. I hope that your reasoned, respectful, and heart-felt words will be read and have a positive effect on this thread.

And, Lando, you are so right; it is much, much more than another flame-war on an unimportant web site. FR was having a positive effect on politics and had become a valuable resource in the fight against the left. It is now well on its way to becoming a laughing-stock, and fulfilling the preconceptions of an uninformed and potentially hostile public.

>>>>>You and others are missing, deliberately or otherwise, the point that GodBlessUSA is making.

Message received loud and clear. The WOT is the primary issue at hand for GodBlessUSA. If Rudy is the nominee, she will vote for him and we should too. Sorry. That isn't gonna happen.

>>>>>Because 9/11 is sacred to me, I don’t like seeing Rudy Giuliani trashed. According to some here, he actually did nothing right at that time... that is despicable, unnecessary commentary and I reject it.

This is a big part of the problem for many Republicans. Emotions are still running high for many people. problem, those emotions are adversely effecting the judgment of some. I grew up in NYC and watched the Twin Towers being built and even did some work for the IBEW at the WTC. I will never forget the events of 9-11, nor would I ever downplay the heinous nature of those events. However, more importantly, 9-11 was an historic event of enormous proportions. With short term and long term ramifications. The personal behavior and public actions of Mayor Giuliani on that fateful day and in the weeks that followed, was not out of line with what is expected from the Mayor of America's largest city.

But Rudy`s 9-11 behavior is not a reason for conservatives to throw away their principles and vote for a liberal to be the standard bearer of the GOP.

>>>>I don’t think I support “Swift-boating” Giuliani unless something truly awful emerges about him.

If you read the thread, you'll see that there are numerous problems that we conservatives have with Rudy. They cover a multitude of issues. From his support for big govt, gun control, abortion on demand as a constitutional right, PBA, gay rights and amnesty, global warming ---- along with a host of other issues. Its not just 1-2 03 3 issues that we object to Rudy on.

With Reagan, most conservatives were satisfied about 80% of the time. With Bush43, conservatives got about half of what we wanted from him. With Rudy we'd be lucky to get 20%!

Nope. Can't ever consider voting Rudy. Frankly, I don't trust any liberal. That includes Rudy.

I've seen few stinkier steaming piles than that on FR in seven years.

I’m going to vouch for this fellow, not that he needs me to. He’s a decent and respectful guy and I’ve enjoyed having back and forths with him.

He is very respectful when disagreeing. That’s what dissent is about.

Okay, you have problems with Rudy you don’t have to support him. Neither do I. However, does “Swift-boating” a Republican ultimately serve conservatism and the preservation of this Nation...?

Who, of the conservative candidates, supports this?

Talking about dividing the Party as it relates to being here...the people dividing are the liberals or people supporting the liberal candidate. It seems pretty clear this is a conservative site, so the onus shouldn’t be on the conservatives. Now if it were some liberal site the opposite would be true.

Well, that seems reasonable enough.

Maybe we're not as far apart as it might have seemed.

But I do reserve the right to have a favorite not exactly in the race.

Reagan dead would be a better president than any Dim alive.
