Doh! Maybe they should have done a better job checking on this guy. That would be profiling and we can’t have any of that.

The article also states that the plant has experienced outage and equipment malfunctions for several years. I wonder why.

Hrmm...Would I be alone in calling for a stiff penalty for him? Because that seems like treason to me...

the utility said it has changed software security procedures since Alavi quit in August after working there for 16 years.

In October, authorities alleged, the software was used to download training materials from Tehran, using a Palo Verde user identification.

I guess it is time they change their security procedures.

This guy quits in August and in October they still have not revoked his computer access.

That is sheer incompetence on some one’s part.

His defense, I did not have a "Palo Verde user identification" after I quit.

Mohammad Alavi...

If only there was some way of knowing what his motive might have been. Just a single clue...

There should be a whole bunch of people doing jail time over this one.

Nuclear plant? A guy named "mohamed"?

I'm no rocket scientist, but I suspect a muslim who is seriously trying to integrate himself into the American culture and society, would change that name.

I as making the silly assumption that anyone working at a nuclear plant must be a US citizen.

I do know that where chemicals are kept in large quantities, as in a water treatment plant, the citizenship requirement, I thought, was pretty universal.
