Red State is one of our regulars daily. It is getting better ever since Human Events aquired it.

When did that happen?

Those two quotes by Reid...with Schumer egging him on in the first one HAVE to be quoted side by side to REALLY expose the MOTIVE of the second.

Thanks for posting that link..and bringing that point out.

Thanks. Pain is gone. Bleeding stopped. More of an aggravation now.

Considered hitting my thumb with a hammer just to have another excuse to take the Lorcet.

Thomas Friedman on with Wolfie...talking about Iraq, says he doesn’t even think we should discuss what would happen if we left...because no one knows for sure. So that shouldn’t be taken into consideration...therefore, pulling our troops right now is okay.

Oh...okay........???

Local news story I hadn’t seen mentioned. A Jordanian man here crashed his car into a police cruiser and then opened fire on them.

Officers are fine, Jordanian is dead. His family says he was just trying to commit suicide. Hmmmm...

I gather you're talking about somewhere in MO, but where is "here" in this story?

There seems to be a growing nexus of pseudo Jihadi types up and down 55.  We've had several major things go on here in Memphis, including a TN motor vehicle worker running a scam selling hazardous materials rated truck drivers licenses to Middle East illegals who then ended up dead (found shot and in her burned out car) when she was about to turn states evidence.

Could they be targeting symbolic places like Memphis, TN and Cairo, IL?

That point....about who Bush COULD get confirmed, is my big arguing point to people that just say “of course Bush should fire Gonzo”....

It is the consequences of actions that need to be considered...on so many topics...and I find that the supposed “intelligent people” in Washington, just skip that part.

St. Louis, in this case. I remember that story about that horrible crime over the licenses.

Should the President appoint Orrin Hatch?

(It’s pretty clear from all the discussions today that Gonzo is a very short termer.)

I heard a story some months ago forget where, that when suicide bombing was tried in a certain country, it was widely advertised that all suicide bombers would be buried with pig entrails, and it was shown being done. Aftyer widely adv. the fact, much of the suicide bombing stopped. Evidently the islamo fascists are not too fond of porky.

Probably Chechnya.  That's a very Russian way to operate and it has proved effective in other circumstances.  Back when we had several Americans being held for ransom in Lebanon the same bunch of Jihadi thugs kidnapped some Russians.  The KGB figured out the three family clans most likely to be running the kidnapping ring responsible and kidnapped senior adult sons and brothers in each clan.  They then started returning body parts, starting with the most sensitive ones.  No notes, no demands.  Just body parts.

The Russians were released and no one ever kidnapped Russians in Lebanon again.
