A plane brought down by a missile would be said to "downed", a plane brought down by an accident would be said to have "crashed".
If he believes his own rhetoric, he would've said "crashed" rather than "downed", would he not? Just seems odd to me.
Wrong... In the language of aircraft crash investigation “downed” is the term. Not “crashed”, not “blown out of the sky”, downed; period. Why? Because when an investigation starts, the cause is unknown. Therefore, it’s treated as a crime scene.
Learn the lingo of the trade before climbing on the band wagon... Those low hanging beams hurt once you’ve been nailed...
