Many in the group of about 400 people had flown in from California and Arizona to join the rally in Lafayette Square yesterday against illegal immigration and to energize themselves for a week of lobbying on Capitol Hill as Congress begins to grapple once more with the volatile theme of immigration reform.
"We are certainly a nation of immigrants, but much more important, we are a nation of laws," T.J. Bonner, a U.S. Border Patrol agent, told the assembly. "What is happening on the border is anarchy. Millions are crossing over, reaping our benefits, taking our jobs, and the government is not doing a damn thing about it." |

I was about to ask if Mullah P had changed his name to Hugh Holler.
I believe the WaPo photoshopped your sign.
&&&&
I believe you are right!
I just checked and Hugh A Hollar (senior and junior) do live in Herndon. I wonder how either one ‘feels’ about being identified as the person holding your sign.
This bill would be a disaster.
BUMP
But this is one of those times I did NOT holler. Hardly said a word. Just clapped every now and then.

:-)
You know, the more I think about this the more annoyed I get by the photographer’s arrogance. I hope that you will get in touch with someone like McCaslin, who might be willing to follow up on this. As someone else commented, this is emblematic of the WaPo’s interest in accuracy.
That may be small, but if there are 20 liberal protestors, the media here will cover it as if a hundred thou showed up.
It should be retitled the “Coddle Illegal Aliens Act of 2007”.
Bttt!

Give Guns a rash of $hit for not bringing it. I already did.
In the center of the photo there is a guy in a white t-shirt. If that is not you, then it is probably 'Hugh Hollar of Herndon'.
BTTT
Guns OK, posters, not so good.
I’m not Wes Young of Bordertown NJ either.
Buford,
Nothing surprises me anymore with the Commie Post. Thanks for being there!

Several hundred patriots assembled at Lafayette Park across from the White House on the afternoon of Sunday, April 22nd to express their outrage over the illegal immigrant invasion taking place daily on the Mexican border. Fifteen articulate and impassioned speakers addressed the grassroots activists who traveled to Washington at their own expense for a week of activities centering on their demands for redress from their Federal representatives who have largely ignored this serious problem. Participants came from all walks of life and included professionals, independent businesspeople, union members, and retirees. Political viewpoints included traditional conservatives including many freepers, populists, and members of the Tyranny Response Team.Just a few aspects of the looming illegal immigration disaster include:
The dangers posed to our very way of life by these nearly 500,000 yearly invaders including drug smuggling, crime, and the ability of Middle Eastern terrorists to slip in undetected with the Mexicans.
The illegals crowding our public schools and, by requiring instruction in languages other than English, bringing down the level of instruction
Their clogging of our hospital emergency rooms, swamping of our welfare rolls, and undercutting the wages of honest and hard working Americans and legal resident aliens.
Being responsible for 13 murders and 12 drunken driving deaths every day.
Speakers pointed out that the Bush administration, by leaving the gates to our country wide open and barely supervised, is guilty of ignoring this vital aspect of the war on Islamic fascism. For the sake of support from shortsighted members of the Chamber of Commerce of the United States, Bush and the Republican Party are fast tracking amnesty. The Democrats, eager for voters among those who have no desire to assimilate and become true Americans, go along eagerly and have done so since Ted Kennedys immigration act of 1965.
Signs in the crowd urged Bush to pardon border patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean, unjustly convicted in Texas and sentenced to lengthy prison terms for allegedly violating the civil rights of a career drug smuggler they shot in the buttocks as he fled back into Mexico after abandoning 743 pounds of marijuana. Most of the patriots were doubtful that Bush will ever do the right thing. Mr. Hernandez, an Edward County Texas deputy sheriff who shot at the tires of a van full of illegals after the driver attempted to strike him with the vehicle is also on his way to Federal prison and faces slim prospects for a pardon.[Bufordyou can talk about your signat least ten people wanted pictures of it.]
The patriots were countered by several dozen leftists and anarchists who, having no love for America, wish our country to accept anyone who wishes to live here even at the expense of our sovereignty and way of life. These hypocrites conveniently ignore the environmental damage of the trash left by the invaders as they stream into our country.
And in a closely related story, the National Border Patrol Council (NBPC), representing all 11,000 nonsupervisory border patrol agents, expressed no confidence in Chief David V. Aguilar for his lack of support for these working agents and for his kowtowing to the Bush amnesty program. Bush administration Border Patrol spinmeister Xavier Rios echoed the Bush party line that there is no greater advocate than Chief Aguilar for the agents in the field.
