Beats me.

(I hadn’t noticed that that 2nd article was from 2005 either.)

I think it was Rudyard Kipling who said that Russia is not the eastern-most part of the West, but the western-most part of the East.

Of course, Churchill had it right: "The two most stupid statement's I've ever heard are 'alcohol doesn't make me drunk' and 'I understand the Russians'."

If there is any outrage at all it'll be because of oil, not because of the deaths of the 9 Chinese souls.....

They do give a little crap about their people. It's one thing is the chinese government kills 20 million. It's quite another if barbarians kill 9 Chinese.

It's also going to become a matter of national face and that they will NOT tolerate losing to Africans.

I think it was Rudyard Kipling who said that Russia is not the eastern-most part of the West, but the western-most part of the East.
Let it be clearly understood that the Russian is a delightful person till he tucks his shirt in. As an Oriental he is charming. It is only when he insists upon being treated as the most easterly of Western peoples, instead of the most westerly of Easterns, that he becomes a racial anomaly extremely difficult to handle. The host never knows which side of his nature is going to turn up next.

I’m sure the PRC will be happy to send in a couple of Divisions to protect the wells.

Africans had their first taste of the Chinese back in the 1960s when they built the East Africa Highway that goes through to Zambia.

There were a lot of Chinese workers who built it, and I would imagine they left some of their genes behind.

It is this highway that has been accused of being the conduit for the spread of Aids in Africa as the truckers conveyed it all along the route.

I'm thinking that's a real incentive for the Chinese to also begin to be invovled, good or bad, in the Middle East affairs.

They already are. Chinese PLA advisors were dispensing free advice and helpful suggestions to Saddam about how to run his rope-a-dope "second war" against us just before Baghdad fell.

And it was Chinese technical people who taught the Serbs how to bag that F-117 that was promptly sent in pieces to Russia for technical analysis so the Russians could develop new detection systems. An incident that, a little bird told us right here on FR, was promptly followed by a series of loud "booms" emanating from the spook shop in the Chinese embassy in Belgrade.

Oops.

Then there was Chinagate and the Bent One.

No, the Chinese will travel halfway around the world to screw with us. We owe them.

The muzzies would be well advised not to piss off the Chinese, unlike the US, they don?t give a damn about Amnesty Intl or the UN.

.... Which is why China will be the ONLY remaining superpower in the world. Soon.

The cutline to the photo says they were ISLAMIC MILITANTS
why not put it in the lead of the story? Oh, I forgot. Those people get a pass.
