Fact Sheet:Update on the New Iraq Strategy
President Bush boarded Marine One for NYC to Encourage the Reauthorization of No Child Left Behind
You know, its interesting, one of the children said, why here, why did you come here, Mr. President? Of all the schools in the country, why this school? And my answer is because the President has an opportunity to herald excellence, and I have seized that opportunity.
There were a number of statements and messages released by the Office of the Press Secretary today:
Presidential Delegation to Attend the Funeral Service of Former Russian President Boris Yeltsin
Former Presidents George H.W. Bush and William Jefferson Clinton will lead the delegation. Accompanying member of the Presidential Delegation: The Honorable William Joseph Burns, Ambassador of the United States of America to the Russian Federation.
Presidential Message issued today Honoring Memory of 1.5 Million Armenian Lives Lost During Ottoman Empire
Today, we remember the past and also look forward to a brighter future. We commend the individuals in Armenia and Turkey who are working to normalize the relationship between their two counties.
Statement on the Results of Syrian Elections
On April 22 and 23, President al-Asad failed again to deliver on his long-promised reforms, rendering Syrias parliamentary elections a meaningless exercise.
Statement on Federal Disaster Assistance for New York
The President today declared a major disaster exists in the State of New York
.. The Presidents action makes Federal funding available to affected individuals in the counties of Orange, Rockland, and Westchester.
President Bush to Welcome Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt of Sweden
President Bush will welcome Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt of Sweden to the White House on May 15, 2007
President Bush to Attend G-8 Summit in Germany
President and Mrs. Bush will travel to Heiligendamm, Germany to attend the G-8 Summit on June 6-8, 2007. The leaders of Canada, France, Italy, Japan, Russia, and the United Kingdom will participate in the Summit along with the German host, Chancellor Merkel. The European Union will also participate.
Malaria Awareness Day, 2007 A Proclamation by the President of the United States of America
Last, but certainly not least Vice President Cheney visited Capitol Hill today and decided to make a few remarks.
Vice Presidents Remarks on Senator Reids Comments on Iraq
I usually avoid press comment when Im up here, but I felt so strongly about what Senator Reid said in the last couple of days, that I thought it was appropriate that I come out today and make a statement that I think needs to be made. (YOU rock, sir!)

QUOTE OF THE DAY:
Democratic leadership's proposal is aimed at restricting the ability of our generals to direct the fight in Iraq. They've imposed legislative mandates, they passed legislative mandates telling them which enemies they can engage and which they cannot.
That means our commanders in the middle of a combat zone would have to take fighting directions from legislators 6,000 miles away on Capitol Hill.
The result would be a marked advantage for our enemies and a greater danger for our troops.
(Not to mention the fact that it would be 100% UNCONSTITUTIONAL!!!)
PHOTO OF THE DAY:
The Constitution of the United States of America
Article II Section 2.
The President shall be commander in chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the militia of the several states, when called into the actual service of the United States;

Thanks for the picture of THE Commander in Chief.
I want Pelosi, Reid, and the whole lot of the Demonrats impeached for impersonating the Commander in Chief and committing treason against the United States in a time of War.
To: ohioWfan
Ole “Attack Dog, Hatchet Man” VP Cheney did a wonderful job of slapping ole Harry Reid into last year.

I agree with you Freedom - what in the world constitutes treason these days?
To: ohioWfan
Of COURSE you missed it.
The news channels have played Harry Reid’s surrender to the world a hundred times...but Cheney..they don’t play.
He pretty much ticked down, case after case after case of Harry Reid twisting the truth or lying or whatever, to discredit the war, the military, our troops and everything.
He also said it is way to cynical for Harry Reid to even say that the war is going to bring them new Senate seats...which puts it all political.
(He had his famous sneer going the whole time....he was so cute!)

Something strange was going on today. I alway search before posting an article if it has already been posted or not, Then when I check for replies, I get a notice that my thread had been pulled because it was a duplicate. Yet the link lead back to my thread. I searched several times and no other threads with the same article came up

U.S. President George W. Bush walks to a podium to speak about the Iraq supplemental on the South Lawn at the White House in Washington, April 24
President Bush makes a statement on the Iraq war supplemental spending bill prior to his departure in Marine One on the South Lawn of the White House in Washington, Tuesday, April 24, 2007.
Good morning. Seventy-eight days ago I sent Congress a request for emergency war funding that our troops urgently need. I made it clear to Democratic leaders on Capitol Hill that Im willing to discuss our differences on the way forward in Iraq. But I also made it clear our troops should not be caught in the middle of that discussion.
Yet, if the Democratic leaders insist on using the bill to make a political statement, they will leave me with only one option: I will veto it.
