Lord Haw-Haw was the name British listeners gave to William Joyce, a German radio propaganda broadcaster during World War II. Born in Brooklyn, New York in 1906, Joyce moved with his English mother and Irish-American father to England in 1921. He joined the Nazi movement in England in the mid-'30s and fled to Germany just before war broke in 1939. He immediately became a broadcaster for Joseph Goebbel's Propaganda Ministry. His radio program reached England weekly from 1939 to 1945.
On the night of April 30, 1945, a drunken Joyce made his last broadcast from Hamburg as British troops entered the city. With his adopted world crashing down around him, but still committed to the Nazi cause, Joyce rambled on through his farewell speech. In Berlin, Hitler was simultaneously saying good-bye to his entourage in anticipation of ending his life a few hours later.
Captured by the British, Joyce stood trial for treason. The court denied his claim of American citizenship because he held a British passport. He was found guilty and hanged on January 3, 1946.

PS - I hope Bush will somehow regain the ability to frame the argument. He has been meeker than a lamb lately - the whole White House has except Cheney.
He needs to define the terms of victory.
PPS - If I were an Iraqi citizen, I would hope the USA would ensure stability and safety after creating the power vaccuum that is drawing terrorists like files into their country. Also, I would look upon my fellow MidEast countries with disdain for the lack of help they have provided in getting Iraq back on its feet.
Harry Reid is far more dangerous - because he actually weilds power. He can control the Senate’s schedule.

Oh yeah. And there was another Brit, son of nobility, who helped form the “Legion of St. George”, or “Britisches Freikorps” [take your pick], a Waffen SS unit unit composed of British POWs [they were promiised they would only fight the russians]. He was hanged too.

He doesn’t have half the country supporting his views. It’s just that so many are indifferent and not paying attention. Now, if you want to get their attention just put Lord Hee Haw Reid on “American Idol”.
HAW-HAW HARRY has a real ring to it. RAGDAD REID works, too. He needs to be pasted and pilloried and made to wear his scandalous treason every single day.
Lack of onions and a eunuch type voice make Reid more like Tokyo Rose.

Maybe part of Reid’s reason for hating Bush so much is that W reminds him of all the boys in school that were actually guys instead of girly-men like him.
