Kucinich seeks Cheney impeachment; Americans to rally on Saturday, April 28

Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) has just introduced Articles of Impeachment against Vice President Dick Cheney.

Article I The Vice President of the United States, Richard B. Cheney, has purposely manipulated the intelligence process to deceive the citizens and Congress of the United States by fabricating a threat of Iraqi weapons of mass destruction to justify the use of the U.S. Armed Forces against the nation of Iraq in a manner damaging to our national security interests.

Article II The Vice President of the United States, Richard B. Cheney, has purposely manipulated the intelligence process to deceive the citizens and Congress of the United States about an alleged relationship between Iraq and al Qaeda in order to justify the use of the U.S. Armed Forces against the nation of Iraq in a manner damaging to our national security interests.

Article III In his conduct while Vice President of the United States, Richard B. Cheney, in violation of his constitutional oath to faithfully execute the office of Vice President of the United States and, to the best of his ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States, and in violation of his constitutional duty to take care that the laws be faithfully executed, has openly threatened aggression against the Republic of Iran absent any real threat to the the United States, and done so with the United States' proven capability to carry out such threats, thus undermining the national security of the United States.

I found my local rally location at this link.

My friends and I are going out to counter-rally and take pictures. I expect to see a lot of tie-dyed hippies and homeless.

On a more serious note, this is being picked up in the global media. It's amazing how much damage one can do to America through the media.

This is being done to rally the base for the 2008 election.

Curious though, is this “advocacy” to push for impeachment?

If so, be on the watch for 501c3 non-profit groups illegally advocating legislative vote (whether it be from NPR and PACIFICA radio or any of a number of organizations). Defund the left. Report them to the IRS when they illegally advocate for/against legislative action.

In DC they are planning an “Impeachment potluck lunch” I don’t know why, but that strikes me as funny.

Also, They say the need 1000 to spell IMPEACH. So far they have 88 signed up. Maybe if they stuck to lower case letters.....

Or used the zoom on the camera.

We went to war against Saddam because he was a state sponsor of interntational terrorism (proven) and had repeatedly ignored UN treaties that were the "peace" established after the first Gulf War. Saddam restarted the war by continuing to acquire prohibited weapons and by seeking to acquire WMD (whether or not his WMD program was successful the attempts have been proven).

Saddam was offered the opportunity to step down and he wanted war.

I do not see how our "national security interests" have been harmed as we have not seen another terrorist attack since 9-11-2001 (at home or abroad) as we did numerous times throughout the 1990s (WTC 1993, Embassy bombings, USS Cole...).

Kucinich lied.

What is the high crime or misdemeanor that Cheney committed?

Let’s see. Dennis was 23 when elected to the Cleveland city council in 1969. How did he get out of Viet Nam? He eventually got his degree in 1973. Student deferments just like Mr. Cheney?

LBJ manipulated an incident in the Gulf of Tonkin to justify the eventual deaths of 55,000 Americans when Viet Nam did not represent a physical threat to the US.

Where was Dennis then?

Take this picture with you

You can also put this quote on a sign

By Dana Milbank Wednesday, April 25, 2007; 8:18 AM “I do not stand alone,” Dennis Kucinich said as he stood, alone, in front of a cluster of microphones yesterday evening http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/04/24/AR2007042402341.html

Maybe they could have the 88 form each letter, one at a time. Then, Photoshop it all into one word.

Another "Fake, but accurate" moment for the moonbats!

The matter of pre-war intelligence was thoroughly investigated by the bi-partisan Senate Select Committee On Intelligence, which filed a lengthy report of its findings, and they found NO EVIDENCE that Bush/Cheney had knowingly used bad intelligence in support of the war. Based on the available evidence, Kucinich is the one who’s lying.

That's correct, but that was under a Republican congress. Today, the senate decided to supoena Rice to answer questions on the lead up to the war.

The word "bi-partisan" doesn't mean a thing.

When he was Mayor of Cleveland, they called him Dennis the Menace.

Cleveland has had some real stinkers as Mayor, but Dennis the Menace takes the cake as the worst. He hasn’t improved any, that’s for sure. Kucinich is a sorry excuse for a human being, and demonstrates just exactly what a waste of resources looks like.

They want to impeach Dick Cheney because his political views are different from theirs. THAT they want to make a crime.

"The word "bi-partisan" doesn't mean a thing."

Sometimes that's true, as with the word "non-partisan," but you can be sure that if the Iraq intelligence committee had come up with something, the Dems would not have let it go, nor would have the press. This is all partisan crap now that the Dems are in power; I would bet the ranch that if we had access to THEIR emails and internal memos, we would see stuff like, "We need to keep up the investigations all the way till the 2008 election, even if there's nothing new. We want the public to associate the Republicans with corruption and lying; we need to re-open everything. Make insinutions of wrongdoing, even where none is found." Like I said, I would bet the ranch on it.
