Within a capitalist system, no one is overpaid since one can always go to a competitor if they are under paid.

The irony here is that Rosie is a socialist who is making as a result of the capitalist system.

It would be your money if you owned stock in Disney.

Well said.

You must have been paying attention during economics class in high school and understand the meaning of capitalism.

If she gets paid $40 million a year, my garbage man is worth twice that. At least he takes the garbage away.

I have Disney in my 401k and if Rosie makes money for Disney, she is not over payed. Once she begins to lose money for Disney she should be kicked to the curb.

Perhaps the people that voted Yes understand market economics.

I think that’s happening since the ratings for “The View” have been sliding ever since January.

If somebody paid her that, she was worth it to them!

Long live the free market!

Oh, I don't know. I think she could be very helpful to certain types of advertisers. You know, like outfits who hawk multi level marketing schemes. Or companies who run hours worth of infomercials late at night. Or people selling books and videos that "prove" Bush planned 9-11. And so on.

In other words, advertisers who are striving to reach out to that unheralded but demographically huge niche market of people under 50.

No, not people under 50 years of age. I'm talking about people with IQs under 50. I think they'd believe Rosie.

That was HER asking price. Disney only apparently offered her $10 million in this last go-around.

It’s inexplicable to me that the question’s even asked. For 40 million bucks, I would expect to see supreme (irreplaceable) talent of some sort...

I'm in the wrong friggin' business.
