Paul Tudor Jones, the wealthy hedge fund manager, has become the latest in a growing band from his profession to throw their weight behind Barack Obama, the US senator vying for the Democratic presidential nomination.
Mr Jones is said to be planning to host a 500-guest fundraiser for Mr Obama on May 19. The event will be held at Mr Jones’s seaside mansion in Greenwich, Connecticut, a big US centre for hedge funds.
“The whole of Greenwich is backing Obama,” said one leading US businessman.
Hedge fund managers, whose newly found wealth has made them attractive targets for presidential hopefuls, appear to be turning to Mr Obama in large numbers.
Last month, George Soros came out in support of Mr Obama. Orin Kramer, a longstanding Democratic fundraiser who is also a hedge fund manager, is also supporting the Illinois senator.
Other prominent managers backing him include Daniel Loeb, and Eric Mindich, a former Goldman Sachs star trader who now runs the Eton Park fund.

If it keeps going this way, Hitlery is going to have to go to Chavez and commie China for increased support...but that is nothing new in the way of a financing strategy for the Clintons. But no matter WHO ends up on the Dem ticket, they will be FAR FAR FAR to the left and the middle class and their wealth will be at great risk (more so than now).

So right you are about the financial service industry being the chief benefactor of a hyperinflationary fed and abandonment of the gold standard.
I think it is much more a matter of GUILT amongst these hedge fund managers that they support commies like Obama. They know they got their money somewhat unjustly because the Fed has been massively devaluing the currency since good old Woodrow Wilson right through Easy Al Greenspan. They get the money first and spend before everyone else knows its been fractionally diluted and is now worth less.
I am hoping to find a job in that industry!

It is more likely to be practical innoculation against any policies Obama or any Democrat might be inclined to later bring against such fund managers.
Politicians don’t come up with policies that go against their big donors. Big donors are in effect big lobbyists.
Looks as though Darien and New Canaan are the only places left in Fairfield County keeping the Barbarians at the Gate. Don't know how long that will last, however.

Why has not a single Imam, Mullah or other Muslim, anywhere in the world, called for Obama to be treated as an apostate?
