... and then Edwards tells that absurd story about his father walking into a resturant and that he had to walk back out with the entire family when he saw the menu prices. That was ridiculous.

I think last time I looked, one with half a brain can tell the difference between a Taco Bell and Morton’s Steakhouse, no?

come to my world for awhile ...you wont be so generous.

You have no clue as to what my world is like or what I have lived through.

It amazes me how people can post such responses to people they know nothing about.

“If we let people die of starvation on the sidewalk outside our homes, the neighborhood will start to stink.”

I took this to be a joke or satire. She forgot the sarcasm tag.

At least I hope it is.

OH PULEEEEEEZE!!! How many people have you seen dead on the sidewalk in your neighborhood this week?

None. No one in the US is denied food. Or health care, for that matter.

Hey, I'm only concerned with my property values. Don't get stressed.

When asked about the success of WalMart, former WalMart Board member HRC responded, “it’s a mixed blessing”. Do these dillweeds actually stand for anything?

They're DemocRATS. They don't have to take a stand for or against anything. They appeal to the uninformed electorate by straddling the fence, smiling and coming across more intelligent than the average voter, which isn't too difficult.

This MSLSD coverage cracks me up. Every camera shot of the analysts has Breck Girl sign-wavers behind the obviously-nonpartisan-objective “analysts”.

Go Mike Go!

I agree, we should be our brothers' keepers. However, that responsibility (a responsibility that does not flow from civil authorities) does not endow us with moral license to rob others in order to fund charity. All social assistance should be voluntarily provided. All federal handouts especially should be abolished.

I disagree.

We take money from citizens to fund all kinds of things. Road construction, pork barrel projects, law enforcement, social security national defense etc etc.

To say that we cannot provide food and shelter to our most needy citicizens is an indenfensible position.

The point is not whether we have a moral or ethical obligation to our fellow man. In my opinion, we do. However, morals and ethics cannot be compelled by the state. As a matter of fact, the more the state mandates “aid” the less the individual feels engaged, or even inclined to be involved, in charitable giving.

You and I may choose to be generous with our money. We have no right to choose to be generous with the money of others.

“I’m A Victim” mentality is what has caused our current societal decline!

I too was raised on welfare, fatherless, alcholic and drug addicted mother, and had my house burn down when MOM was at the bar!

I chose NOT to fall into the “VICTIM” trap and I’ve done well for all my family!

LIFE IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT!

Any dem-o-rat that says “My Fellow Americans”.

I know that is a Nixon line. But when they use it, I just need to take a shower.

So how long have YOU been on welfare? Maybe you should lay down the crack pipe and get a job.

Do enjoy making yourself look like an idiot and ignoramous on FR?

I have never been on welfare and am considered a star employee by management at my company where I've doubled my salary in less than 10 years.

Your ignorance is astounding.

Try responding to something people post nest time instead of your inane personal insults.

I’m with you. I’m getting very tired of being forced to give charity to the entitlement getters at the threat of imprisonment.

Just last night, I was a Wal-mart, behind a someone who used her welfare card to buy ice cream. She then took out a wad of cash to pay for her new playstation.

And then there’s silly old me using the last twenty bucks I have until payday to buy food and gas to get me to work be able to eat through the week.

I’m such a chump.
