We are treated this week to the spectacle of the copperhead Dhimmicrats waging all out war on our country in the name of "peace."  The gloves are off and the masks have fallen.  George W. Bush declared war on the people and movement that attacked our country and murdered 3,000 of our people after 9/11.  The Dhimmicrats declared war on George W. Bush at that same time, but they adopted one of the tactics of our islamo-fascist enemies, to pretend to be "a good citizen" while living in the "Dar ul-Harb," in this case a Republican ruled United States.  Behind the scenes, however, they almost immediately decided to use every means, fair or fowl, to bring down their political opponents, regardless of the cost to our country, freedom and liberty in the world or the cost in human lives and suffering.  You know, the same tactics they've used since their blood enemies, the Republicans, were first elected in the 1850s.  They are living out the notion that "the enemy of my enemy is my friend," even though they are therefore embracing the the most murderous form of fascism and brutality.  Barry Goldwater said that "extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice."  The copperhead Dhimmicrats believe that extremism in the pursuit of naked power and at any cost is a virtue.

The farce of the current war funding resolution, or as the Dhimmicrats call it the Iraq Redeployment Act of 2007, will finally come to an end sometime in the next week with the President's righteous.  Right now their latest excuse for delay is that they want to send the bill to the President on the anniversary of the "Mission Accomplished" moment, which they vowed at the time they would use as a weapon against Bush, even if they had to lie about what that phrase meant (which they have).  He will veto it on arrival and the conventional wisdom is that they will then work with "moderate Republicans" to pass some form of "compromise" that he will sign.  I don't think that will happen.  I think we are on the brink of a catastrophe the likes of which we have never seen before.  The only uncertainty is who will be the ultimate victims in that catastrophe.  They won't end up passing anything or, if they do pass something, it will still be totally unacceptable from the standpoint of defending American interests and will again be vetoed.  Either way the funding will begin to run out in short order and we will face a Constitutional crisis larger than Watergate.  But this time I think the blame will fall on Harry Reid, Nazi Pelosi and their "friends."  If it actually happens that way, won't it be fun?

The other big deal this week, woven into the same overall theme of war as politics as war, are not one but two "meet the candidates" shows, one with Biden and one with McCain.  OK, these are the two most ubiquitous Sunday morning guests on the planet and they have the chutzpah to talk about "introducing" us to them?  Now, if they were telling us who the hell Mike Gravel was or what level of insanity Dennis Kucinich is operating on where he thinks he has a chance, that would be interesting, but McCain and Biden?  Please!

On the three main Sunday shows that aren't pimping candidates for '08 (at least not officially) we are treated to (?) Secretary Rice up against 1) old Bob Schieffer and John Murtha; 2) little Georgie Steponallofus and Russ Feingold; 3) Wolfie Blitzer and a cast of thousands.  Doesn't that sound like fair and balanced?  Doesn't that sound like fun?

Well, enough of my ranting (yeah, right).  On to the show.

The shows are presented in the order they appear in my market (Memphis)

NBC Meet The Press is one of the two "meet the candidates" shows this week and they offer us up a chance to learn about that never before seen enigma, Joe Biden.  Ayep.  Lil Timmah Russert as Porky Pig: "That's all folks."  The phrase "mind numbing" just jumps out at me.

CBS Face The Nation gives the Memphis market their first glimpse at the new Condi offensive, countered by that great American, John "I'm out of my mind and sold out decades ago" Murtha.  OK, this is even more stupid than "meeting the unknown" Joe Biden.  The only value to this show will be the retrospective on the insane rhetoric that Ol' Bob and crazy John spew forth against those actually trying to defend our country.  Of course, there may be no one left to do the critical review of their insane actions if they succeed...

Fox News Sunday offers up that other "unknown candidate," John McCain, with yet another attempt to resurrect the "straight talk express" with more double talk.  They also offer us an "inside" view of his wife, Cindy "mobbed up beer baron's daughter" McCain.  Bet they don't ask about her drug abuse or those little theft problems from the 90s.  We all have to MoveOn.ORG, don't you know.  Those days never happened.  That's what Orwell's memory hole is for.

CNN Late Edition is the second local appearance of our Secretary of State, or "George Bush's Aunt Jemima" as the progressive set would call her.  It's likely she'll only face Wolfie directly, though he's as anti-American a partisan as any Dhimmicrat.  It's a shame she doesn't share more of Lynn Cheney's style of debating folks like that.  Say, have you noticed that Lynn Cheney hasn't been on any talk shows to speak of since slapping down Wolfie?  Gee, I wonder why, might they be afraid of her?  As usual LE offers up more voices from abroad, this time the Iraqi foreign minister (who will be trashed) and the President of the EU Commission (whose backside will be kissed).  They also bring Jane Harman back from Pelosiberia, now that she has something to criticize Bush about (the FBI is evil for having investigated terrorists and violated their constitutional right to kill us even though the law mandated that they do so).  They also introduce us to the unknown Republican leader, Adam Putnam.  Be honest, how many of you have ever heard about him?  He's never been on one of these shows since I've been paying attention, but of course he's now joined the chorus calling for Gonzo's resignation, so that entitles him to some Sunday morning face time.  The rules are the rules.

ABC This Week offers us our third installment of the Rice road show, this time up against mister "damn the Constitution I'm going to control speech for your own good" Russ Feingold.  The one thing you can say about Russ is that he's always been an honest moonbat and traitor.  You have to give credit to someone for being consistent, even if they are consistently wrong.  Lill Georgie also offers up Sam Brownback as the "Republican to be made fun of" this week.  Sam provides Georgie a twofer as he's both a conservative Republican and a believing Christian.  Talk about a target rich environment for a committed Clintonista Dhimmicrat!

The three minor and one major Saturday shows offer up their usual mix of trash and triumphal insight.  The Beltway Boys gives us the usual political Washington conventional wisdom, though even these two drones are injecting an unusual note of curious skepticism about that conventional wisdom.  The Clinton "permanent campaign" approach to spinning the news from the 90s has been replaced with the current "the spin is the news" approach of the dinosaur media and the Dhimmicrat leadership and it's beginning to wear more than a bit thin.  The vacuous nature of the what's passing for our government in the legislature and judicial branches of government, combined with the total lack of reality in the permanent bureaucracy in the executive is so apparent that even the simplest Gomer in Mayberry  is on to the scam by now.  Maybe the folks in Washington will catch on in time.  Let's hope not.  CNBC's Tim Russert Show brings us the glory that is Jann Wenner, the founder of that great guide to our current morality and one of the 50 most influential gay people around.  What a triumph of journalism that must be.  Fox News Watch offers up their usual defense of anything and everything done by "professional journalists" regardless of the facts, this time obscuring the question of DBM bias with tabloid trash about Rosie and the perky one.  Some day we'll have a real critical review of the dinosaur media, but it will take new media to produce it.  Yo, Brent Bozell, when are you going to start a regular media critique video podcast?  Finally, the class act of Saturday (or the whole weekend?), the Journal Editorial Report brings a reasoned and reasonable discussion with people who actually know about the issues involved, in this case the real situation in Iraq.  As usual.

Well, that about sums it up for the Weekend talk shows.  And I'm about 45 minutes to the good on the last few times I posted this.  Amazing!

Bottom line, the naked partisanship of the Dhimmicrats has never been more starkly apparent.  Napoleon allegedly said "When your enemy is making a very serious mistake, don't be impolite and disturb him."  Normally I would say that we should accept that advice, but with the mind numbed robots that are the 4th estate today (read 5th column) we can't count on the obvious being exposed for what it is and with the attention span of the sheeple (even some here on FR) being unable to distinguish between reality and what they are spoon fed by the dinosaur media it is our sworn duty to point out their outrageous and imbecilic "reporting" for what it is.  Gee, the burden is just so tough...

This should be cross posted to my blog at Wizards.townhall.com later today, along with the last several weeks items that I've failed to post to my blog.  I now have a plan (mwahahahaha!).  This post exists primarily as a heads up for who is on the weekend talks shows, what they've been invited on to push (based on their recent pronouncements) and the spin (meme) the DBM is likely trying to push based on that information. All of this is prep work for the weekly Sunday Morning Talk Show thread posted by Alas Babylon!. That thread provides a live commentary and analysis of the Sunday talking head shows, with valuable insight and exceptional fact checking. we are the Jedi Council of FreeRepublic, at least in regards to these DBM gabfests. You wanna know what was said and what it meant, as well as where they messed up? Read that thread!

Mark Kilmer has posted his excellent preview of the Sunday shows over at Redstate.COM.

Politico.COM has posted their Sunday Talk Show Tip Sheet.  Did I shame them with my post last week about it being missing?

Anyway, have at it.

The Weekend Talk Show Preview Thread is up

It will also be cross posted (sometime soon... maybe) to my blog at

http://wizards.townhall.com/

Here's a sample of  my usually witty commentary...

They also introduce us to the unknown Republican leader, Adam Putnam. Be honest, how many of you have ever heard about him? He’s never been on one of these shows since I’ve been paying attention, but of course he’s now joined the chorus calling for Gonzo’s resignation, so that entitles him to some Sunday morning face time. The rules are the rules.

&&&&

I do know Adam Putnam, and was pleased to see his name appear on the guest list, but, ever naive, I thought he would be supporting the Republican administration. When will I learn that Rs only get invited when they trash their own party. He is an excellent speaker on the floor of the House.

I despair of our party. With 21 months left of the Bush admin. who do these anti-Gonzales people think could be the next AG?

Thanks Phsstpok! Great job and I appreciate the heads up. Also, hello to everyone and I pray you are well and still energized for 2008.

Hillary will get kudo’s from various pundits. The problem is they are all lies. Just like Bill, she says one thing now in anticipation of the election but when the chips are down she will revert to her socialistic leanings. Bill Clinton said he would lower taxes but once elected said he did not realize how bad everything was so he could not do it. Point being, they will say whatever is necessary to win and not follow through with their promises.

The efforts to discredit and bash President Bush today will be transformed against Republicans in 2008. That’s the Democrat plan and we mess up when we agree with any of their positions or propaganda. Currently, the Democrat faithful are mass emailing people with article after article that bashes President Bush and Republicans. They are clearly trying to lay out a field of discontent before the upcoming election.

I hope the pressure on Harry Reid continues, and gets more intense. Republicans are horrible in attack politics but this has to be an exception and it will be hard to support any Republican who fails to take the high road and positive position that Reid must step down from Democrat leadership.

More on Sunday if I can. I’m sorry to be so absent lately but work and my laptop being kaput has caused me to miss most of the Sunday thread.

One last point that seems to be overlooked. Every statement coming from the Hillary camp includes Health Care for everyone. If anyone thinks she has abandoned her desire for the government takeover of health care is delusional. Hillary will use her election as proof our country demands national health care and socialized medicine.

Yes...maica.

Adam Putnam WAS one of my favorites...and then I see where he is calling for Gonzo to be gone...which means he doesn’t undertand the whole set-up by the dems..

OR, he doesn’t mind sacrificing another one, like Rummy...which only made them more bold to ask for more.

Either way...he disappoints.

I don’t know, sleuth. Gonzo is so bad that I have worried about him for at least a year. Currant Occupant (who I suspect is a lawyer) and I were groaning quietly together. He’s just awful and doing huge damage, I think. I took the position that we don’t give the dems a darn thing, but this guy has got to go gracefully, if possible.

Yes, we would. If you find someone of HUGE stature in DC, they are already a mess and think they’re better than anyone. A horrible attitude for administering justice. Not that that happens much.
