Have any of you seen the bits and pieces of the interview with George Tenet?

My impression of him is not good. He seems snotty and immature. To think he was head of the CIA makes me very uneasy.

You 're absolutely right, Bahbah. Victor Davis Hanson is confused too.

I believe Tenent is playing CYA, Washington style. He was kept on even though he served under Clinton. Probably a mistake on Bush’s part but that’s history. What Tenant said isn’t all that bad from what I’ve heard but he seems to give Clinton a pass while blaming Bush more than he should have. Selective critiques are usually in poor taste.

George Tenet has been associated with the dem side of the aisle all his life until he continued as CIA head with the present administration. IOW, he is personally a dem. All of his friends, etc.

He was a Clinton holdover, after all.  You can't very well blame a skunk for smelling bad.  It's just his nature to be a schmuck.

It's one of the great tragedies of this President that he trusts people and takes them at their word.  The other tragedy is that he vowed when he came into office that he wasn't going to play the kind of vicious political games his predecessor did.  And for this President those kinds of promises are things that he'll stick by, even at great personal cost.

And we all bash him for being an honorable man.

Such is life.
