There was a Russian who wrote an essay "Will the Soviet Union survive until 1984?" sometime in the 1970s, I think it was. I don't remember the name offhand. The nomenklatura was not amused.

My impression is that Communist regimes believed that humor was a weapon to be used against enemies of the party and anyone who deviated from the party line. Sort of like Hillary Clinton.

“True, but the “Boris the Fighter” title is a play on “Boris the Spider”, a Who song. I would be surprised if Clinton knew it..”
Why would you be surprised?
He named his DAUGHTER after a pop song of the same era (’Chelsea Morning’ was 1969, ‘Boris the Spider’ was 1966.)
