Well said. The oil companies have one other advantage, too -- they've learned the drill here long since. In 1974, Venezuela (who else?!) expropriated Creole Oil.

They'll remove anything that A) can be removed and B) works properly.

It’s the intangibles the moved months ago that ensure the downfall of the oilfield. Namely, all the geological information regarding new finds and plans for plant and equipment. The sucking sound is the invissible intellectual capital that now sits on hard drives in Texas waiting for Hugo’s demise.
