Prince Harry, who is due to leave for Iraq, said he is willing to risk his life to serve his country. Harry, who delivered the speech to close friends at Londons Mahiki club on Friday, said: Im s**ting myself. Im prepared to do anything they throw at me. Im going to miss my family. But I am proud to serve my country, which is a great honor.
Harry arrived at the exclusive club with girlfriend Chelsy Davy, who was wearing a short red dress. Harrys friend Guy Pelly - Mahikis general manager - greeted the couple and showed them around the privately booked venue. Prince William was also present, but arrived after his brothers emotional goodbye speech.
In a clear reference to the debate surrounding whether Harry should be allowed to fight on the front line, the prince insisted he would be happy to do whatever is asked of him during his six-month deployment. He is quoted in Britains News of the World newspaper as saying: Whether I serve on the front line or carry out a desk job in Basra I just want to get out to Iraq and serve my country. Im proud of the men Ive trained with but I have to respect they need to be safe. They havent decided what exactly Im going to do out there yet.
Head of the British Army, General Sir Richard Dannatt, will make a decision on Harrys exact role in the next couple of days.
Harry and Chelsy spent most of the night dancing, before leaving at 12.50am, while William, 24, continued partying until 3.35am. Harry has reportedly prepared for the worst by writing a will for his $26 million fortune.
....Prince Harry is due to fly out with his unit from the Household Cavalry within days.
..."There are reports that Denmark is sending out special forces to Basra, where British troops are operating, to "resolve a special problem", which could include supplementing the British SAS while they are diverted to the protection of the Prince.
.."General Sir Peter de la Billiere, the commander of the British land forces during the 1990-91 Gulf War, said it should be up to the Prime Minister to take the final decision about the Prince being put in harm's way in Iraq.
We will catch Harry

A SHIA commander in Iraq has claimed that the Mahdi army has people inside British bases who will leak information about Prince Harry's arrival in the country.
"One of our aims is to capture Harry, we have people inside the British bases to inform us on when he will arrive," Abu Mujtaba, a commander in the Mahdi army, the Shia militia loyal to radical cleric Moqtada al-Sadr, told The Guardian.
He added: "Not only us, the Mahdi army, that will try to capture him, but every person who hates the British and the Americans will try to get him, all the mujahideens in Iraq, the al-Qaeda, the Iranians all will try to get him."
His comments will provoke further debate about whether the Prince should be sent to Iraq, for his own safety and that of his comrades.
Friends of the 22-year-old Prince told the BBC he would be "very disappointed" if he was not allowed to go but would stay with the army.
He has told people he is not afraid to die but is anxious about the risk to his comrades, friends told the Daily Mail.
The Prince's heart has always been set on being a long-term career soldier but he could find himself having to reassess his position within the army if he is prevented from going to Iraq or confined to a less risky desk job in the region.
And the Daily Express has reported that a $US250,000 ($A302,938.5) reward has been offered by al-Qaeda for information which helps terrorists find the prince.
The Times reported that army chiefs even feared the attack on a Scimitar reconnaissance vehicle, which killed two British soldiers last week, was a dry run for an attack on Harry.
In an interview to mark his 21st birthday, he insisted: "There's no way I'm going to put myself through Sandhurst and then sit on my a back home while my boys are out fighting for their country."
It is time for Prince Harry to become King Harry and maybe England will be England again.
I’m just wild about Harry!.............(really really old song).......
No matter where you go, it seems that the media is inherently stupid and despicable. Who gives a rat’s a$$ what his girly-friend was wearing, and what in hell does it have to do with anything in the story????
Militant
Chelsey Davy
If we are mark’d to die, we are enow
To do our country loss; and if to live,
The fewer men, the greater share of honour.
God’s will! I pray thee, wish not one man more.
By Jove, I am not covetous for gold,
Nor care I who doth feed upon my cost;
It yearns me not if men my garments wear;
Such outward things dwell not in my desires.
But if it be a sin to covet honour,
I am the most offending soul alive.
No, faith, my coz, wish not a man from England.
God’s peace! I would not lose so great an honour
As one man more methinks would share from me
For the best hope I have. O, do not wish one more!
Rather proclaim it, Westmoreland, through my host,
That he which hath no stomach to this fight,
Let him depart; his passport shall be made,
And crowns for convoy put into his purse;
We would not die in that man’s company
That fears his fellowship to die with us.
This day is call’d the feast of Crispian.
He that outlives this day, and comes safe home,
Will stand a tip-toe when this day is nam’d,
And rouse him at the name of Crispian.
He that shall live this day, and see old age,
Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours,
And say ‘To-morrow is Saint Crispian.’
Then will he strip his sleeve and show his scars,
And say ‘These wounds I had on Crispian’s day.’
Old men forget; yet all shall be forgot,
But he’ll remember, with advantages,
What feats he did that day. Then shall our names,
Familiar in his mouth as household words-
Harry the King, Bedford and Exeter,
Warwick and Talbot, Salisbury and Gloucester-
Be in their flowing cups freshly rememb’red.
This story shall the good man teach his son;
And Crispin Crispian shall ne’er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered-
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in England now-a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs’d they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s day.
Talk about a leader.
Pray for W and Prince Harry
I am NOT happy with his going over there, not at all. Lord, please put your angelic protection around this young man and foil any plans to harm him!
I guess being royalty has its perks.
No pun intended
Family portrait before Harry leaves for Iraq...but uniform stolen? Alas, William saves the day....
Britain's Prince William gave his brother Prince Harry the shirt off his back for a royal painting. The 24-year-old old prince came to the rescue when Harry arrived for a sitting with painter Sergei Pavlenko at Buckingham Palace, only to discover his Army uniform had gone missing.
Harry's uniform was an integral piece of wardrobe as the work was to commemorate his passing out from Sandhurst Military Academy.
Pavlenko told Britain's Daily Express: "It was OK in the end, though. Fortunately Prince William was there that day and had his uniform. So Harry wore that as I painted. The sleeves were a bit long, though!"
I can’t imagine that, if this group were serious about capturing the Prince, they would be this open about it.
I think it is a fantastic example he is setting. God bless him.
Pampered whimps should not be allowed to serve.
I hope the yobs take note and change their role model to Harry. God bless and protect him.
He may indeed cause more harm to the British Army then is worth his going. I pray for the safety of all.
James Hewitt, reportedly one of Diana's many lovers.
If Harry is Charles' son, at he did not get the ears.
You be the judge!
Maybe they’re going to let Harry go because he IS Hewitt’s kid and not Dumbo’s.
Harry the Fifth!
You seriously think that someone who want to go to Iraq, who has a family tradition of military service that goes back over 1000 years should not be allowed to serve his Queen (and Grandmother) and country?
With the exception of the Duke of Windsor (The former King Edward VIII) who acted disgracefully during the 1940 campaign in France, the members of the Royal Family have given honorable service in the British Armed Forces. At least one gave his life during World War II and most have shared the risks of war.
