"The Salvation Army operates thrift stores across the United States. In keeping with its mission to help the less fortunate, these stores both cater to lower income customers and often employ people who might have difficulty finding work elsewhere.
The Salvation Army has a policy that requires its employees to speak English on the job. In a 2003 opinion, a federal judge in Boston approved of the policy as a legitimate business practice. The next year, a Salvation Army store in Framingham, Mass., did what I think most of us would agree was the right thing to do: It gave two of its employees who spoke very little English a year to achieve a level of English proficiency required to do the job.
It's important to note that the Salvation Army didn't summarily fire these two employees. Quite the opposite. Counting the five years they had already worked there, the employees had a total of six years to learn English. But when they had failed to do so by 2005, they were let go.
That's when the U.S. government sued."
I think we know where this anti-American crap is coming from, and Newt knows too. It does not take a genius...

Newt is the guy delivering addresses in spanish so that illegals can watch him on Youtube - or whatever brilliant strategy. Of course, Newt is a “futurist,” so maybe he envisions a world of ipod-wearing busboys and construction workers winning the future Newt-style.
Hillary is changing her dialect depending on where she speaks. His speech in Spanish was to apologize/clarify about his “ghetto language” comment, AND to tell Spanish-speaking poeple WHY it is necessary to speak English to succeed in America. I think it’s a great way to get the point across.
My wife is from Peru, and learned English fairly recently. She said Newt’s YouTube speech was very good & positive.
Hablamos Ingles en este pais.
Hopefully but perhaps fanciful, it was one of the U.S. Attorneys that recently got the pink slip because of this.
I believe Newt has actually learned Spanish...... not sure how well he can fluently carry on a conversation. though. That would be a huge advantage election-wise...... to be able to field equstions from the Latino community, and give his optimistic answers in Spanish without a translator, or some prepared response.
Bush has spoken something other than standard English for a long time. I don’t know if his Spoanish is as bad as his English. Boston’s mayor, however, has Bush beat. We call him Mumbles. http://www.mumblesmenino.us/
