In my youth (in which I include my early adulthood), I read a lot of philosophy. In those days, I picked up books of metaphysics with an excitement that I cannot now recapture, and that completely mystifies me, indeed seems to me faintly ridiculous. I still cannot quite make up my mind, however, whether or not I wasted my time. After all, I was a medical student, not someone training to be an intellectual. I doubt that philosophy made me a better person, let alone a better doctor, but I suppose it is possible that it made me a better writer, which is not the same thing at all.
In those days, the Soviet Union loomed very large in all our imaginations. It was the ruffian on the stair of western civilisation, or a looming presence to the east. And that meant that, for anyone who wanted to understand the world, it appeared necessary to immerse himself in Marxism (actually, it was more important to read the history of the Russian intelligentsia from the time of Nicholas I than to read Marx), since the Soviet Union claimed to be a society founded on Marxist principles.

- Interesting similarity.
Anyhow, the WOT will be won with the side that disposes of the superior amount of resources, namely the civilized part of the world.
Islamists can win different battles in places like Afghanistan, but to force your religious believes upon other people is impossible.
Forcing a nation to behave like a ruling elite wishes them to is very difficult as well.
Black markets exists/have existed in all Socialist/Communist countries and there are several people in countries like Iran who dare to make demands for true democracy, just like there was in Eastern Europe before the wall came down.
Tyrants come and go.
Freedom is eternal.
Communism and Islam both come from Satan. He seeks dictatorship over the earth, and destruction of all faith and works which might lead man to God. He has many slaves to do his bidding and has caused much death.
The one problem with this is that the world outside of Islam, really doesn’t care about it. The only way Islam can attain complete social and political power over others is to stop all education of the masses..........as they have tried to attain in the Middle East. With education, comes the realization that their system will not work with intelegent civilizations. From what we are seeing today, the people of Islam are followers. They are not allowed to think for themselves, which goes against everything we have learned. Get rid of education, and education that means something, and you will have Islam take over.
I believe that liberal politicians actually think that they should be the object of worship. Sickening secularists.
All politicians are that way today. We didn’t impose term limits so they set themselves up for re-election instead of running the country. Again.....we should do what the Romans did. Senators could only serve for one year and their world lasted for how many years and controlled how much of the world? Look at how long Fienstien, in California, has been in office and how much financial corruption she is envolved with. Look at Ted Kennedy. We are fools and we will pay for it someday.
Don’t say “we” as all inclusive. People in CA and MA do not necessarily reflect people in the rest of the country.
“The only way Islam can attain complete social and political power over others is to stop all education of the masses”
Unless it is attained through incremental indoctrination in the educational setting. Incremental, in that it is so slowly and methodically injected into the education system that it largely goes unnoticed until it’s too late. Certainly there is more than ample evidence that our public schools have become nothing more than indoctrination centers!!
