Perhaps it’s because he works at the 2nd Amendment Foundation and they deal exclusively with 2nd Amendment issues. Just a guess.

And that would be my guess as well. However, his lead-in (due process, denial of constitutional rights), clearly impacts well beyond his pet issue, doncha think?
But of course. But again, the 2A Foundation deals exclusively with the 2A, so I wouldn't expect the author to address due process as it relates to other amendments.
