Just went to lgf. unbelievable. I don’t know if your in the Bay Area but all those support structures shown are recent earthquake retrofit reinforcements. I can see a new boondoggle in the works now: making every inch of freeway in California resistant up to 5000 degrees.

I'm on the right coast. California isn't known for sensible solutions to much of anything these days so I wouldn't be surprised.

Well, the Cypress Freeway was the freeway which collapsed in the 1989 earthquake and after wards, I think the entire span on that side of the bay was retrofitted so you’re right, a lot of what you see is relatively new construction.
