Also, there was an earth flag hanging from the ceiling of the gym, and no American flag.

That could be because the teachers were hurting their necks as they attempted to spit way up to the American flag, so the janitors just took it down.

What I remembered of that bathroom, it was pretty nice. They had cool water faucets and sinks - contemporary design in addition to the urinals you see. Go into the next room, they have their sit down toilets, very nice with a full length door that closes into a door frame, no cracks where the occupant can be seen. Most public bathrooms in NZ were pretty nice and the people who design our public bathrooms here in the USA can learn from the Kiwi’s on this. When I came home from being in NZ for three weeks, I went to use the bathroom at LAX airport, already known for being a dump, it was very depressing to come back.

You forgot to mention the fact that universities are putting in “Transsexual” bathrooms as well. Islamic wash basins, “Transsexual” bathrooms, whats next???

I can see how some bathrooms could be fixed up, but this is goofy. There is such a fear of being offended as though it is the worst thing in the world. I think the goal of these people are to eventually have one bathroom for all people, men, women, and those questioning their sexuality (who now are getting their own bathroom).
