I am no fan of bullies, but are they really the most serious social problem we face?
Probably not, however, I would guess that the consequences of bullying are worse today than they were when I was in HS 20 years ago. Back then we wanted to kill our tormentors, instead you just had to stand up to them. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't, but you at least got the satisfaction of standing up for yourself. Today, the most extreme cases result in in the shootings we see. Apparently standing up for yourself isn't enough for these nutcases.
