Judge eyeing divorce bill denies split [state action on bill to add irreconcilable differences]

Nassau County State Supreme Court Justice Robert Ross denied the divorce of a Manhasset couple, saying the husband did not have a valid reason under New York's strict divorce laws.

The decision came Monday, two weeks after Ross refused to rule on the case until the state legislature took action on a bill that would add "irreconcilable differences" to the grounds for a divorce. New York is the only state where one spouse must accuse the other of wrongdoing, or else both must agree to a complicated separation agreement and wait one year.

My wife was denied in a similar motion.

Strange someone should think this is news.

So, just lie about it. In 1960’s Texas, my wife swore in the divorce complaint that I would sit on her stomach, among other fabrications. Now, I don’t deny lying on her stomach, but that was different. Before no-fault, people just lied.
