I wish to heck they would go after him. I can’t believe what he gets away with! For myself, I can’t even watch him to see what new filth he’s going to spew. I’ve developed this involuntary “twitch” when he comes on tv, both my middle fingers go up and start making violent jabbing motions at the tv. (This also occurs when Dingy Harry is on.) Thank goodness there are no children at the house.

Jack Murtha. Proof positive that there are in fact ex-Marines.

most all Marines refer to themselves as Former-Marines
This guy is an Benedict Arnold Patriot
Some so-called “Patriots” choose to betray America, sometimes out of principle but most for personal gain. Arnold’s true issue lay in the abuse of his position of authority and trust: he would betray West Point and its garrison “and if necessary the entire American war effort” to secure his own success. His treason was not that of a principled man but that of a self-serving one.

The powers that be within the RNC/WH know exactly who those type individuals are......Such an WOT supporting 527 should have already had all the resources it needed channeled to it (by those $$ men). If such an WOT supporting 527 existed....It would have only then been further supported by the grassroots...

And there is where I believe the ugly reality of why such a WOT supporting 527 doesn't exist.....because the stingy, self-absored RNC doesn't want to "share" any monies from the base.....

Regardless....A fully funded WOT 527 should have been up and running 3 years ago. With weekly updates about our successes, why we are in this fight, why we need to stay on the offensive....and for showing the DEM leadership for who they are....

It is flat out shameful that both the WH & RNC haven't made sure such a 527 exists...

Not sure it would be good or legal for GOP to have their finger prints all over it. Nonetheless, it is a shame. But it would be no more effective than FR, which daily has numerous articles posted. Leftists would not read a 527 website and the MSM would not report on it.

Of course there would be no official GOP finger prints all over it - Avoiding things such as that is child's play (especially for those in Washington).

The DEM players are all over Moveon.org and several others..... With funneling resources and all the rest.

No, it is that the DEMs, while intellectually dishonest, when it comes to politics and PR...they are not LAZY. The RNC/WH are completely lazy in this regard. They are inept.

Most of the big $$$ individuals that give to the RNC/WH are private citizens. They could very easily be directed to start up such a WOT supporting 527. Once up and running, and taking the truth to the American public....Funds from the grassroots movement would flow in in bundles....

But it takes work, energy and more work to make such happen. It takes being more worried about the "bigger picture" then simply about how much money the RNC has on hand (again, I believe the RNC is more worried about members of the base donating to such a WOT supporting 527...and not to them.....That they'd rather not have such an 527 to compete with).

Which is shameful.

1/3 of war today is managing the message and PR. We are getting our as$es handed to us in this regard. And this is the one area where U.S. soldiers have no ability to step in and fight this aspect of the war (it is against the law for them to do so). That is where the WH/RNC need to step up and pull their own d*mn weight in this war.

Bingo. The Bush administration has been an utter failure at getting the message out through all venues. If it weren't for blogs and the CENTCOM website there wouldn't be much of anything to get a true picture from.

I'll just revert to my 5th grade chant: "It takes one to know one." Nyah, nyah.

Bush has given many speeches over the last few years, using the bully pulpit to defend the war and highlight some of the successes. It is the GOP house and Senate & RNC that have almost completely dropped the ball. With the exception of a few guys, there are few congresscritters that even like to talk about the war and the great things accomplished. Hell, they don’t need a 527. they have staffers, the ability to call press conferences, etc.

Odd thing is that Petraeus is probably a Dem based upon past statements and writings.

You’ve got to be kidding. Mr. I-Can’t-Accept-Your-Bribe-Because-You-Aren’t Offering-Me-Enough is calling someone a “hack”? You, and the horse you rode in on, Mr. Murtha.

He might not be by the time this is over. Imagine how Curtis LeMay and Al Haig were both Republicans, but imagine what how would have felt about the GOP if they found themselves on the receiving end of the crap that Petraeus is getting.
