Syria can’t be stupid enough to think they could prevail. They can be that stupid. They could think they have an advantage that Israel cannot overcome right now, especially if they have Saddam's WMDs in the Baka Valley.
One thing is 1000% certain, if Syria attacks, Israel will not fight some “PC” war like they did recently. It will be a go for the throat, all out effort.
To be sure, if Syria launches missiles loaded with WMDs, Damascus will be burnt toast.

Syria, Hizbollah, Hamas, supported by Egypt and the Saudis, who have modern military platforms. At a time where the US might be expected to apply pressure should thing go badly.
