Actually, what would probably happen if this became law is that every major conservative talk host would quickly jump to Satellite radio which is not regulated by the FCC because it is not considered "public airwaves" but a subscription service. Of course they would be followed by many if not most of their current listeners.

All this legislation would accomplish would accomplish is to hasten the death of terrestrial radio at least on the AM side of the dial.

The COST of the radio and the service would make the “jump” impossible for huge numbers of the public.

There would also be the need to “get over” the idea of FREE Radio we are all comfortable to have enjoyed.
