"I know many people argue that keeping and bearing arms is a federally guaranteed right as stated in the Second Amendment of the Constitution," the Mayor said. "But even in the Second Amendment, it refers to firearms in the context of a well regulated militia, and well regulated is what we are trying to accomplish. Just as unimpeded interstate travel is constitutionally guaranteed, we reserve the right to regulate who can or cannot drive an automobile. We must also sensibly regulate gun purchases to preserve the safety of all Americans."

Ironically, while the good mayor and his deluded liberal friends were busy plotting to abolish the RKBA, a gang of illegal aliens were plotting the execution of the biggest crime ever against NYC and the American people — and they pulled it off in the most “gun secure” area possible — without guns. Even worse, had one or more citizens not been denied their constitutional rights to self defense, the whole senseless tragedy may have been averted. Terrorists would not be so free to conduct their grisly business if our citizens were armed rather than being sitting ducks.

Yeah, right! Guess he forgot about that "shall not be infringed" part.

And now he wants to come off as Charleton Heston's reincarnate, at least until he pulls the wool over many of our constituents eyes.

Julie POTUS-in-a-prom-dress seems to be as against the Second Amendment as McAniac is against the First Amendment.

How will either be able to take the Oath of Office, especially the latter half which states:

“...and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

In fact, getting a driver's license requires several forms of official identification proving residency. It requires a written test and a road test, and a thorough background investigation is done to determine if the applicant has a history of driving recklessly, or unlawfully. These driver's license requirements are fairly uniform from state to state, which demonstrates that from region to region, a vast majority of Americans accept that driving an automobile is potentially very dangerous and requires sensible regulations. However, guns kill many more people than automobiles do, even though there are many more cars than guns."

I doubt that guns kill half the number of people that vehicles kill in this country. I think Rudy shot off his mouth here without checking hard data. Rudy needs to think about one thing. Guns don't kill people. None of my guns ever left the house at night and killed anyone.

(My standing tagline since the VA Tech horror.) Matter of fact, I don't even have to lock my guns, and not one has ever gone out and even injured an innocent person.

In fact, getting a driver's license requires several forms of official identification proving residency.

I wonder what Rudy's position on voting rights is, since he thinks getting a driver's license need official ID? He is probably against having official ID for voters. The Texas House has some bills up for votes this year that require "proof of legal citizenship" that every democrat opposes.

No matter how fast you can run, the past will always outpace you.

Don't turn around, Rudy. Just keep a'runnin'...

I've said it to every gun control advocate I've ever met: "If you want gun control, there is a way to do it; repeal the Second Amendment. If you can't do that, you don't deserve to get your way."

This is the thing that bothers me the most about Giuliani. It's not that he wants take my guns away--I don't have any. It's that he doesn't respect the Constitutional right to keep and bear arms. If you are willing to so blatantly subvert the Constitution on one issue, how hard will you work to defend the others?
