A missile that can reach the US is one thing- and very difficult in its own right. A missile that can reach the US carrying the kind of large nuclear warhead that Iran is likely to manufacture is quite another. I seriously doubt Iran will have minaturized its nukes sufficiently to reach the US by 2015.

And if they did hit us with a missile, what do they reasonably expect from us in return?I vote for their total annihilation.

This totally ignores that they can deliver a bomb by truck from Mexico as soon as they can build one. This gives people a false sense of security as if we have all the time in the world.

So naturally the RATs are trying to slow deployment of an ABM system. /slapsheadindigust

And we have numerous missiles that can hit Iran in less than 90 minutes ;-)

Only one nation so far can target missiles against continental US and that is Russia. The inter-continental ballistic technology is only possessed by USA and Russia.

The terrorist regime in Iran may already have missiles to target parts of Eastern and Southern Europe as in Greece. However the terrorist regime in Tehran will not exist for the time to target the rest of Western and Northern Europe, and definitely not the US.

As Ron Paul pointed out today, we survived an era with 40,000 Soviet nuclear weapons pointed at us with capable rocket technology and here we are threatening to go into ANOTHER preemptive war over a third-world nation that doesn’t even have any nukes and more importantly any capability to weaponize and launch anything more than 50 miles.

“I vote for their total annihilation.”

Nancy P. will want to understand why they are so angry with us, and step up negotiations with them/s;)

>>> I seriously doubt Iran will have minaturized its nukes sufficiently to reach the US by 2015. <<<

I seriously will not bet your right. No serious Conservative would let them approach the brink of a delivery system and miniaturization before taking military action.

I worked for prime contractor, Martin Aircraft, on the Titan I ICBM from 1960 to 1963.

At that time the U.S. was in concurrent development of 1) A missile of sufficient size to carry a warhead of unknown size and 2) miniaturization of the atomic and hydrogen warheads to fit a missile of unknown payload capability.

Both ends were working from the outer edges...hoping to meet in the middle....a workable weapon. There is no reason Iran can't take the same approach. For them it is easier....friends in Russia, Pakistan and North Korea.

Waiting for an imminent threat is a fools game.

It doesn’t matter how many years. If they can ever do it, they will use it.

Have you a clue as to the infrastructure that Iran has in place to develop a launch system and a weaponized nuke?

Read my post #12. Ron Paul is dangerous to others....including you.

The Reds didn’t believe they were going to heaven if they died. They were more or less rational. The rag-heads are not rational. Dieing for allah is what they do. Doesn’t matter how many others get killed in the process. That’s why we have to treat them differently. Ron Paul is right on a lot of issues. This one he is dead wrong on. It really pains me because I think he has the right set of domestic policies, but totally bifs the foreign policy issues.

Gee, if only we had some means of hitting back. Like a missile, or bomber, or some other way we could annihilate Iran if they attacked us...

the guys in the British and French boomers might be amused to hear that.

How about the Chinese? They've had an ICBM with the range to the reach CONUS since the 70's. You think the technology to do that isn't smaller and cheaper by several magnitude today?

The ones responsible to make the decision don't care. They believe the destruction and chaos will bring about the Islamic version of the end times.
