When was the last time a sitting Republican US Senator lost a primary? Got to be a little out of touch me thinks.

Bob Smith 2002 lost his seat to Sununu Jr..

Before that it was Shelia Fraum (sp?) of Kansas losing to Sam Brownback in the nineties (1996?).

before that Al D'Mato beat Jacob Javits in 1980. There might have been a few more in 1980
