Police have arrested a third suspect in the insider theft of more than $5 million in taxpayer money from the Colorado Department of Revenue.
Hysear Don Randell, 40, was arrested in Denver driving an SUV yesterday afternoon.
Two suspects implicated in the scheme, including a supervisor with the Colorado Department of Revenue,were moved to the Denver County Jail earlier May 1.
Lynn Kimbrough, spokeswoman for Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrisey's office, told YourHub.com that Department of Revenue Taxpayer Service Division supervisor Michelle Cawthra, arrested April 28, and Andre Holliday, 41, were moved from the Arapahoe County Jail and made a first court appearance May 1.

Denver police have no sense of humor. The poor guy was just trying to make a living. But....I guess it’s good they didn’t use rubber bullets.

You know, I dont have that much of a problem with this...the government steals my money and it gets stolen again.
I would rather work on stopping the government than stopping the smaller fry crooks.

Hmmm. Let’s see now. Suppose you’re a gubmint tax functionary who finds out that some colleages have just ripped off your tax ripoff to the tune of 5M.
Which of the possible responses do you choose?
1. “Gosh, we’ll just have to take up a collection around the office to make good on this.”
2. “Well, I guess it means that some of our wasteful, destructive programs will have to go to bed without their porridge tonight.”
3. “Memo to staff: Rip off 5M more from the taxpayer next month.”
Mark clearly inside the box with a #2 pencil. Time is a factor.
To steal that much, you usually have to get elected.
