He's a candidate for President of the United States. Apparently a serious one. I was under the impression that all such candidates get SS protection.
I know for a fact that a Senator who was running against Billy Jeff in the 1992 primary had such protection, for himself and his family... Maybe primary opponents only get such protection when they are running against a Clinton. The facts are not inconsistent with that conclusion.
But I still think all primary candidates get the protection.

In 1996 and 2000, Alan Keyes never received SS protection.
In fact, his 3rd place finish in Iowa in 2000 made him one of the “frontrunners.”
This is a bunch of hogwash.
