Hate to break this to you, but I think the 28% is high. I talk politics with people all the time, and every single one of them hates Bush now. A majority of the people I talk to voted for him in 2004, but there isn’t a single one who would support him now. If it isn’t the war (and some dislike him because he hasn’t tried hard enough on that), it’s immigration, gas prices, or corruption. It’s not like I am talking to the Move-On types, either. These are people who are all either R’s or Independents, who live in areas that voted 65$ % for Bush. My own precinct was over 70% for Bush, and it was real ugly going door-to-door last fall.
It’s not 28%.
Please don’t use personal hyperbole to justify the fake poll of two news organization that engineered it to hurt America and our troops.
Sure Go Bucks Sure. Tell me when Elvis gets here.
They sound like juvenile idiots.
And how many of the folks you talk to are also buckeye fans ?
Gas prices and corruption????? Pffffffttt!!!
I have been contacted, and am very vocal as well, especially on immigration issues and spineless republicans. What you should understand is regales of how vocal I am when contacted by members of the republican party, there is still no question I will vote for one in an election when the alternative is a democrat. This last election should show everybody what happens if we stay home or “protest” vote for somebody else.
I think that what you say is true, but I also know that many of these people probably couldn't tell you who their Congressional Representatives are let alone their party affiliation unless the media told them. I live in a district that was overwhelmingly Bush in 2004, then voted a democrat to the senate by a big margin and a republican to the house by a bigger margin in 2006. There's no rhyme or reason for that exchange, and that's in the same state.
Ohio was special with the GOP there and various state issues, but it wasn’t fun doing precinct work here in Northern Virginia last Fall, either.
We are experiencing an influx of folks moving from the northeast to our wealthier parishes, and an increase of illegals into the less affluent areas. That accounts for some of our switch from red to blue. BUT the bottom line is, the GOP has its work cut out for it.
Still, I would never trust any poll by Newsweek. They haven’t been anywhere near accurate for as far back as I can remember.
They don’t like bad news and that is all they hear on the TV. How large a percentage of your precinct is connected to the internet?
So based on your anecdotal analysis, his approval rating is 0?
