And, yes, it matters to Mattis. He was the one Pantano ‘quoted’. “No better friend, no worse enemy.”

Just catching up....Red, set me straight here. Wasn’t Huck the one that had an investigation started in the first place against Pantano? I thought Pantano wasn’t too happy with Huck. Maybe Huck learned a lesson from that case about NCIS, the media circus, and propaganda provided for the enemy. Perhaps he decided to have a much higher bar to order an investigation, and in this case, since it was combat related, that bar wasn’t high enough.

Re. Mattis, I just wonder if that statement he made about “It’s fun to shoot some people...” hasn’t tied his hands and authority a little. He may not be able to afford to appear he’s turning a blind eye to Marines who are overly “aggressive”. Hopefully, now that this case has died down as breaking news, he can be a little more supportive of his Marines by providing the immunities, dropping charges, etc.

Re. Murtha...He just doesn’t appear smart enough to put all this together. It could be he’s being used by other parties around him. Also, his hit job on these Marines has been far too easy with no opposition. The media doesn’t oppose him, they encourage his outrageous statements about cold-blooded murderers, impeachment, etc. It’s good for their ratings. Noone in Congress seems to want to take him on because of his military past. This seems foolish to me, there are too many citizens who can’t stand him.

Well the first hearing begins today for Capt. Stone. Keeping fingers crossed the prosecution blows it big time.
